About the Teacher

To become a Hatha Yoga teacher as part of Sadhguru Gurukulam, one must successfully go through five months of very intensive training. You can verify our certification and find more details about the Classical Hatha Yoga teacher training on the Isha.Sadhuru.org.

In addition to all class and teaching aspects being covered in the training as expected, one essential aspect which we have learnt is how to set our personalities aside once we are in front of the class and allow something bigger than us to transmit Yoga. Hence our approach to teaching is very different from what you will find in the western world: we have to create and maintain an atmosphere conducive for this transmission to happen. An essential part of this is actually your commitment and openness to learn an ancient yogic practice in its purity, understanding that these are powerful tools for self transformation that require a certain level of reverence. If you maintain this feeling within yourself, you will experience a new dimension of what Yoga really is!

Our current mission is to bring Classical Hatha Yoga to regional Australia and to make it available to anyone who wants to learn. Hence, wherever you are, please lodge an expression of interest with us. Even if you don’t have the financial means, please reach out to us! We will make it happen.

The teaching is designed in such a way that by the end of the class you will be comfortable and confident to continue doing the practices on your own (no need to pay to go to a yoga studio). We also offer continued support as required. Support is also available to those who have learnt these practices elsewhere, indifferent of which teacher they have learnt them from.

If you would like to support us in the endeavours to bring Classical Hatha Yoga to regional Australia, you can make a donation through PayID to our ABN 27415227988, online through Stripe or through PayPal. Your contribution will be used solely for covering operating costs (e.g. transport, venue hire) and it will not go towards teachers’ pay.
